Samsung is expected to bring an affordable version of its Z Fold model to attract more people to the foldable segment.News

Samsung is expected to launch a more affordable version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 priced at approximately Rs 65,000.

Samsung is reportedly gearing up to launch a new budget-friendly foldable smartphone. According to a report by Korean Sisa Journal, Samsung’s entry-level foldable device includes a slightly less powerful processor, an inferior screen and a smaller battery capacity. These compromises allow the consumer tech hardware giants to keep the pricing of the rumored foldable device in check.

However, the camera specifications are similar to the current folding lineup, which in theory should have near-flagship-quality photos despite the differences in processing power. The rumored foldable smartphone is expected to be priced around $800 (roughly Rs. 66,000), which is much cheaper than the Galaxy Z Fold 5’s $1,800 or Rs.1.49 lakh.

After the Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) held in Barcelona, there were several rumors surrounding the production of Samsung’s latest Z Fold line. Now it is speculated that the Korean tech company will make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra for its premium users while adding a budget offering for the average consumer. The tech giants are expected to unveil their 2024 foldable lineup in July this year.

Samsung has been leading the competition in the foldable smartphone market ever since the first Z-folding device was released in September 2019. The first generation of this smartphone lineup received mixed reviews from consumers, especially due to the very noticeable crease that went straight down the middle. display.

Small improvements and tweaks over the last few years have helped Samsung deliver a much more mature product in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 5. In recent years, however, Samsung’s foldable collection has stopped. This has cost them huge market share in China due to competition from Honor and Huawei. A cheaper Z Fold 6 could help them regain much of the lost market by potentially reaching millions of new users.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 was released last year and had a lot of flagship features. It launched with an industry-leading 6.20-inch bezel and 7.60-inch foldable display. The screen resolution is 2176×1812, which offers a pixel density of 374 ppi.

At the heart of the Z Fold 5 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 12 GB of RAM. The foldable device has a 4400 mAh battery that also supports patented fast charging. In terms of cameras, the Z Fold 5 has a triple lens setup with a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The front camera has a 10 MP + 4 MP dual lens setup. The latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 will sell in the market for Rs 1,54,999 after its launch.
